Battleship Iowa open during government shutdown; military gets free admission

SAN PEDRO, LOS ANGELES

The Pacific Battleship Center, which runs the site, said it would remain open for the duration of the shutdown since it is a nonprofit independent organization.

Veterans and active military with identification will receive the regularly priced $18 tours for free for the duration of the government shutdown.

Battleship Iowa, located on the Los Angeles waterfront, is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. The ship is docked at 250 South Harbor Boulevard in San Pedro.
