California serial robbery suspect nabbed in Santa Ana

SANTA ANA, Calif.

Authorities say Dennis Adamson, 24, is responsible for five robberies in Orange County, including an Independence Bank in Fountain Valley on Aug. 2; a Subway restaurant in Santa Ana on Sept. 22; a Mobil gas station in Santa Ana also on Sept. 22; a 76 gas station in Costa Mesa on Sept. 29; and a 7-Eleven in Costa Mesa on Oct. 3.

Police also say he robbed eight banks in the Visalia area and also a Chevron and 7-Eleven in Bakersfield between March 2013 and Sept. 14, 20013.

He was also arrested on Oct. 1 by Irvine police for possessing drug paraphernalia.

On Oct. 6, Adamson was on his bicycle in an industrial area in Santa Ana when he was stopped by police. Police say he was wearing a backpack at the time. Adamson was detained after officers recognized him using his prior booking photo from Irvine police.

Investigators conducted a line up, where a robbery victim positively identified Adamson. He was tied to all of the aforementioned robberies during an interview with police.

Santa Ana police believe Adamson may be responsible for even more robberies.
