Robert Colt Wilson was arrested on May 14 after police officers discovered a loaded weapon and explosive device in his car during a routine traffic stop.
During the later investigation, a bomb squad was sent to Wilson's apartment in the 3800 block of Overland Avenue. That's when officials discovered bomb-making materials.
Wilson pleaded no contest to one felony count each of possession of a destructive device on a public street, possession of the ingredients to make a destructive device and possession of a controlled substance with a firearm.
Superior Court Judge James Dabney immediately dismissed the remaining four felony counts and sentenced Wilson to eight years.
