For love -- he'll give it a shot.
Jon Bon Jovi made an Australian woman's lifelong dream come true by walking her down the aisle at her wedding, following an online campaign she had launched months ago.
Branka Delic wed Gonzalo "Gonzo" Claderia at the Graceland Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas on Saturday, Oct. 12. She had several months ago launched an online campaign to try to get the 51-year-old rock star walk her down the aisle, tweeting the hashtag #bonjoviwalkmedowntheaisle continuously.
"All her life, Branka thought she would marry Bon Jovi himself," reads a message posted on the website BonJoviWalkMeDownTheAisle.com. "Sadly, at the age of 34 she realized this would never happen, and she accepted Gonzo's proposal instead."
A Facebook page, also called "Bon Jovi, Walk Me Down The Aisle?" contains the message, "If we get 5000 likes maybe he'll actually do it!" While the page attracted more than 2,100 likes -- less than half of the desired goal, Jon showed up, dressed in a flowing white dress shirt, to fulfill her wish.
Delic was getting her hair and makeup done when she received a call from a person who told her a limo was going to pick her up to meet Jon at the chapel, according to the Australian newspaper The Telegraph. The outlet quoted her as saying: "You have never seen a bride get ready so quickly.''
The timing was perfect -- the rocker was set to perform with Bon Jovi at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in the city that day -- as was the location -- Jon married his wife Dorothea at the Graceland Wedding Chapel in 1989. Delic chose the venue on purpose, writing on her website, "She might not be marrying Bon Jovi, but the next best option is for her to walk down the same aisle he did 20 good strong years ago."
"He said, 'So are we going to do this,' I said 'What?' There were all these other brides there and you should have seen the looks on their faces," Delic told the Australian newspaper The Hornsby Advocate. "He walked me down the aisle and he was trying to give me to Gonz but I wouldn't let go. I didn't cry because I didn't want to ruin my make-up and look awful.''
After Jon walked Delic down the aisle, the couple was married by an Elvis impersonator officiant, according to the Sydney Morning Herald. Pictures of Jon and the blushing bride were posted online and also on Bon Jovi's official Twitter page.
"Congratulations @branksd!" read a tweet posted on behald of the band. "May you & Gonzalo have a lifetime of happiness, love & memories together - ALWAYS!"
