Britney Spears treated fans with the name of her upcoming eighth studio album -- "Britney Jean."
In an interview with U.K. radio station Capitol FM on Oct. 15, the singer revealed that naming her album "Britney Jean" (Spears' full legal name is Britney Jean Spears) stems from family members calling her by the name, deeming it a "term of endearment."
"It's called 'Britney Jean,'" Spears said to Capitol FM. "It's a personal album and all my family they always call me 'Britney Jean,' it's like a term of endearment, and I just wanted to share that with my fans."
Spears also tweeted about the album title to her more than 32 million Twitter followers, saying, "Cat's out of the bag people. #BritneyJean!!! Bringing ALL of me to the music. DECEMBER 3."
The album's title is reminiscent of Spears' third studio album released in 2001, titled "Britney," which featured the hits "I'm A Slave 4 U," "Overprotected" and "Boys." Spears' last album, "Femme Fatale," was released in 2011 and yielded the hit singles "Hold It Against Me," "Till The World Ends" and "I Wanna Go."
Spears spoke to "Good Morning America" on Sept. 17, when she announced her two-year Las Vegas residency show at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino and also hinted that "Britney Jean" will be her most personal album to date. The singer used her real-life breakup with ex-fiance, Jason Trawick, as inspiration for material on the LP.
"During this album, I had a breakup with Jason that I went through that I wrote a lot about. They suck. Breakups suck, man," Spears said.
The news of Spears' album title comes on the heels of the release of her steamy new music video for her single "Work B----." The S&M-themed video features Spears in several sexy, revealing outfits as she dances her way through the desert, a penthouse overlooking the Las Vegas strip and against a white wall with a Lamorghini's headlights serving as spotlights.
