OTRC: Christina Milian voted off 'Dancing With The Stars,' gets emotional

Christina Milian talks to OTRC.com after week 5 on 'Dancing With The Stars' on Oct. 14, 2013.

Christina Milian got emotional following her shocking elimination during week five of "Dancing With The Stars."

The singer, who along with partner Mark Ballas tied with Corbin Bleu and partner Karina Smirnoff for the highest score of the night with 28 out of 30, choked up in an interview with OTRC.com following her elimination, where she said she's going to walk away from the experience stronger.

"I think what I'm gonna take away is that I'm stronger," Milian said to OTRC.com. "It was an amazing experience. Sorry, I'm like, all teary-eyed. But honestly, I was in shock today. But at the end of the day, everyone here has been such a fantastic dancer so, I would've been in shock, regardless."

"But I had the time of my life and I'm not done, Milian continued. "This is the beginning and this is such an amazing feat that I've been able to achieve, so I'm really proud of myself."

Milian and Ballas danced a Cha Cha Cha routine to the CeeLo Green hit "Forget You," as the singer recalled 2010 as her most memorable year, the theme for the night's show. It was the year Milian welcomed her daughter. Violet, but also endured a divorce from husband, record-producer and songwriter The-Dream, who was found to be unfaithful during their marriage.

In the week prior to her elimination, Milian and partner Ballas received harsh criticism from former "Dancing With The Stars" professional dancer and guest judge Julianne Hough. Hough commented that the duo were "dancing side by side," rather than together, and told Milian that she had to "stand in front to make sure you're seen," comments Milian said "felt personal."

"I like a critique and I don't feel like I was critiqued in any way and so I didn't get to get much of it, you know, so it kind of felt personal, Milian said."

During their run on the show, Milian and Ballas experience week-to-week gains in scores from the judges, receiving a 22 out of 30 for their contemporary number in week one, 25 out of 30 for their Paso Doble in week two, 26 out of 30 for their Charleston in week three and dipped slightly in week four for their Foxtrot.
