Hollywood appears to have found its new Christian Grey!
Jamie Dornan, a former Calvin Klein underwear model who played Sheriff Graham and the Huntsman on ABC's "Once Upon A Time," has been tapped to play the lead character in the movie adaptation of the S&M-themed "Fifty Shades of Grey," weeks after "Sons of Anarchy" star Charlie Hunnam exited the project, according to Variety.
UPDATE: E.L. James, author of the "Fifty Shades of Grey" novel and its two sequels, said on her Twitter page on Thursday, Oct. 24: "Stow your twitchy palms ladies... our man is here. Welcome to #TeamFifty @JamieDornan1 x"
Dornan, who is 31 and from Northern Ireland, and film distributor Focus Features have not commented. The Hollywood Reporter and People magazine reported that negotiations with the actor are currently underway.
"Fifty Shades of Grey" and its sequels depict the sadomasochistic and romantic relationship between wealthy businessman Grey and college student Anastasia Steele. It was confirmed in September that Dakota Johnson, an actress who starred in "The Social Network" and is the daughter of Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson, will play the female lead.
Dornan has also modeled for Dior and Armani and is also known for his past role as Axel von Fersen in Sofia Coppola's 2006 film "Marie Antoinette." He currently stars as serial killer Paul Spector on the BBC crime drama series "The Fall," which stars Gillian Anderson of "The X-Files" fame.
