Actor Orlando Bloom and his wife and supermodel Miranda Kerr, who are among Hollywood's most popular couples, separated earlier this year, OTRC.com has confirmed.
The 36-year-old "Pirates of the Caribbean" and "The Hobbit" actor and Kerr, who is 30 and is best known for her work as a Victoria's Secret Angel, are parents to a 2-year-old son, Flynn.
"In a joint statement, Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr have announced that they have been amicably separated for the past few months," the actor's spokesperson told OTRC.com on Friday, Oct. 25. "After six years together, they have recently decided to formalize their separation. Despite this being the end of their marriage, they love, support and respect each other as both parents of their son and as family."

The two have not commented in person. Bloom and Kerr wed in July 2010 and have often been photographed together at celebrity events. In September, Kerr attended the opening of "Romeo and Juliet," Bloom's Broadway debut. He stars in the production, which runs through November, with actress Condola Rashad, daughter of "The Cosby Show" star Phylicia Rashad. (See PHOTOS)
Bloom appeared on the daytime talk show "LIVE! with Kelly and Michael" on Friday but was not asked about the split. He did, however, rave about his and Kerr's son.
"He's about to go to gym class," Bloom bragged. "He seems to be just exploding into everything at the moment."
He also raved about being in New York and starring on Broadway.
"I love when you walk out into the city you feel like you're part of the stream of life," Bloom said. "New Yorkers are super cool, man."
"I'm loving Broadway," he added. "It's my first time. I feel so fortunate to be doing it."
