OTRC: Brant Daugherty voted off 'Dancing With The Stars,' gets emotional

Brant Daugherty and Peta Murgatroyd talked to OTRC.com after week 8 on 'Dancing With The Stars' on Nov. 4, 2013.

Brant Daugherty couldn't hold back his emotions following his elimination during week eight of "Dancing With The Stars" on Nov. 4.

The "Pretty Little Liars" star, who along with partner Peta Murgatroyd earned a 27 out of 30 for their Foxtrot routine, choked up in an interview with OTRC.com following his elimination, where he expressed his gratitude to his partner and being able to experience what being on live television week-to-week was like.

"I just learned how hard it is, how tough it is, but I learned that I'm capable of it," Daugherty said to OTRC.com about appearing on live TV weekly. "It's been amazing. It's been an honor. I have so much love and respect for her [Murgatroyd]."

Murgatroyd also told OTRC.com why she feels Daugherty is still a winner, despite being eliminated mid-way through the competition.

"From day one, I knew his determination level just went through the roof, so I knew I had a winner, regardless whether we went out week one or week 11," Murgatroyd said.

"I've learned so much from this guy, just being great friends and just having the best time together," she continued. "We laugh non-stop and he's just going to be a friend for life."

Daugherty and Murgatroyd performed a Foxtrot routine to the song "Shoop Shoop Song (It's in His Kiss)" from the movie "Mermaids" in a tribute to guest judge and performer Cher. The couple struggled with timing during the dance, yet still managed to earn a 27 out of 30 for the night.

During their time on the show, Daugherty and Murgatroyd remained consistently one of the top-scoring pairings in the ballroom, often scoring 27 and 28 out of 30 points from week-to-week. The duo slipped slightly during week four of the competition, which saw Daugherty mending minor injuries, earning a 21 out of 30 for a Salsa routine that guest judge Julianne Hough felt was "loosey goosey."
