Body found in Griffith Park; investigation underway

GRIFFITH PARK, LOS ANGELES

Authorities responded to a call from park rangers about a possible body in a secluded area of the park near Crystal Spring Drive at 12:53 p.m. Wednesday. After a search, the body was located near the bottom of a ravine.

According to the LAPD, the preliminary report indicates that the victim may have fallen, but the investigation has only begun. The body was not expected to be removed for several hours, possibly as late as Thursday morning.

Investigators were seen canvassing the area to look for evidence.
