A fugitive wanted for his ties to the distribution of methamphetamine may be on his way to California, according to FBI officials.

The suspect, identified as Matthew Duke Maley, 46, of Tucson, Ariz., has ties to New Mexico, California, Colorado, Texas and Nevada.

FBI agents went to his home Sunday to serve an arrest warrant for federal drug charges, but Maley had already fled. The suspect is considered armed and dangerous.

Maley was described as a white male, standing around 6 feet tall, weighing about 180 pounds with hazel eyes and a bald head. The suspect has several tattoos on his arms, including skulls, a cross and lightning bolts.

FBI officials say Maley may be driving an olive green Land Rover, Discovery model with New Mexico license plate No. MSG-233.

Anyone with information about Maley's whereabouts was urged to contact Albuquerque FBI officials at (505) 889-1300.
