Carson foul odor: Dozens complain of burning in nose, throat

Los Angeles County fire officials say dozens of people were treated for complaints of burning in their noses and throats after a foul odor was reported in Carson Monday night.

Officials said 70 patients were evaluated at the scene and 12 were taken to area hospitals with minor complaints.

The incident happened around 9:15 p.m. at a warehouse facility on the 20900 block of South Maciel Avenue. The warehouse is owned by Brookvale International.

Hazmat crews are investigating the cause of the irritating odor.
