Pitbull excited to host 2013 American Music Awards

LOS ANGELES

"Look, I'm not here to surprise anybody or try to gain fame off doing something slick on television. I'm here to have a good time, take advantage of such an amazing opportunity that they've given us, and just show them who Armando is," Pitbull said.

The international music star knows his way around a song, and Sunday will mark the network primetime debut of his latest hit, "Timber."

Sunday's show will also include, among others, performances by Jennifer Lopez, Justin Timberlake, Katy Perry, Rihanna, Lady Gaga and Miley Cyrus. You'll also get to see "Dancing With The Stars" favorite Maksim Chmerkovskiy perform in a very special tribute.

Pitbull says it's going to be quite a show.

"Are we going to season it up a little bit? Absolutely!" said Pitbull.

Pitbull is amping up for his new adventure in hosting.

"I've never had a hosting gig or a hosting job, but I feel like I wake up and I host the world every day. So the American Music Awards, what better place to do it there with a roomful of beautiful, sexy, sophisticated, powerful women," said Pitbull.

The music, the fashion, and the fun begin on Sunday at 7 p.m. on ABC7 when Rachel Smith and I bring you "On The Red Carpet from the AMAs." That's followed by the American Music Awards at 8 p.m.
