Bob Dylan charged in France over Croatia remarks

PARIS

In the interview, the musician is quoted in Rolling Stone magazine comparing Croatians to Nazis and the Ku Klux Klan. The charges of "public insult and inciting hate" were filed against the musician in mid-November.

A lawyer for the Croatian community group who filed charges says they are not seeking monetary damages. They only want the singer to apologize to the Croatian people for the comments.

So far, Dylan's representatives have not commented on the case.

The charges were filed two days before Dylan received a French government honor at the Culture Ministry Nov. 13 but were not publicly confirmed until this week.
