Ben Stiller received a handprint and footprint honor at the TCL Chinese Theatre on Tuesday, Dec. 3, and friend Tom Cruise was on hand at the ceremony.

Cruise and Stiller have worked together in the past, most recently in the film "Tropic Thunder" and Cruise revealed during his speech that he interrupted Stiller's honeymoon with wife, actress Christine Taylor, so that Stiller could help in with a parody of "Mission Impossible II" for MTV back in 2000.

"He so generously came off his honeymoon to come and help me and I was like -- first of all Christine, thank you because ... something I'll never forget and I'm sure you won't either," Cruise said said. "But, here's a guy who, he came in and, you know you have this idea to do something, and he came in instantly not only helping to rewrite, but I was standing there and he was directing me."

Stiller said during his speech he has always been a big fan of Hollywood history and considered the hand and footprint ceremony a great honor.

''I've always loved the history of Hollywood and the history of the movies. It's very, very meaningful to me, and to be in any way a part of it is really a dream come true for me even though Cheryl Ladd isn't here," he joked. "'I'm humbled, touched and very proud to know that wherever I go, long after I'm dead, my footprints will be here in Hollywood, being stood on by a fake Shrek posing for tourists for a dollar.''

Stiller will next appear in the film "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty," which he also directed. The movie also stars Kristen Wiig, Adam Scott and Sean Penn.

The movie is based on a short story from 1939 and the 1947 film of the same name. It tells the story of a Life magazine worker (Stiller) who often imagines himself traveling around the world. He gets the chance to live out his fantasies in real life when he sets off on a global journey to find a missing photo for the final issue of Life magazine.

"The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" is set to hit theaters on Dec. 25. Check out a video of Stiller's hand and footprint ceremony in the video above!
