Britney Spears agonizes over her boyfriend's wondering eye in her latest music video for the song "Perfume."
"Perfume" is the second single off of Spears' latest album, "Britney Jean," released on Dec. 3 (read a track-by-track review). The music video can be viewed here (Warning: video contains suggestive content).
The singer announced the release of the music video ahead of its Dec. 10 premiere on Twitter. She said to her more than 34 million Twitter followers, "We've set a date! Perfume vid will premiere Tuesday on @VEVO. #3DaysToPerfumeVideo. Had to dig deep and really play with some acting chops for this one!"
The "Perfume" music video is directed by Joseph Kahn, who has worked with Spears in the past as director for the videos "Stronger," "Toxic" and "Womanizer."
In the video, Spears -- who sports a leather jacket and jeans, as well as white lingerie and a men's flannel -- is seen in various states of embrace with her lover as they sit atop a hotel roof, swim in a pool and lay in bed together.
While spraying on her own perfume in the bathroom, Spears discovers a mysterious text message on her lover's phone from another woman. Spears sings, "I'll never tell, tell on myself / but I hope she smells my perfume," as visions of her lover and another woman flash through her head.
The singer premiered the emotional power balled, co-written by Spears, singer/songwriter Sia and co-produced by will.i.am, on her official Facebook page on Nov. 3. She told fans recording the song was like sharing a piece of her heart.
"'Perfume' is incredibly special to me because it hits close to home," Spears said. "Everyone's been through an insecure moment in a relationship that's left them vulnerable and I think this song captures that."
The release of the "Perfume" video follows the release of Spears' provocative and drastically different music video for the song "Work B----" in September. Spears can next be seen headlining her highly-anticipated Las Vegas residency show, "Britney: Piece of Me," at the Planet Hollywood Casino & Resort beginning on Dec. 27. Tickets can be purchased here
