Mega Millions jackpot soars to estimated $400 million

There were no tickets sold with all six numbers in weeks. The next chance for the enormous jackpot is on Friday.

There were five tickets sold with five numbers, but missing the Mega number. Each was worth $1 million, said the Multi-State Lottery Association, which conducts the game. Two of the tickets were sold in Ohio and one each in Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Jersey.

The numbers drawn Tuesday night were 5, 12, 22, 41, 65 and the Mega number was 13. The estimated jackpot was $344 million. The drawing was the 20th since the last time a ticket with all six numbers was sold.

According to the Mega Millions website, the chance of matching all five numbers and the Mega number is 1 in 258,890,850. The overall chance of winning a prize is 1 in 14.71.

The Mega Millions game is played in 43 states, the District of Columbia and U.S. Virgin Islands.
