Khloe Kardashian has filed for divorce from basketball player Lamar Odom after four years of marriage.
The news comes following recent reports that Odom, 34, was battling a drug problem and that he and Kardashian, 29, were undergoing couple's therapy. Neither he nor Kardashian have commented about the matters or about the divorce. The two have no children together. Kardashian filed divorce papers in Los Angeles on Friday, Dec. 13, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split.
The filing, obtained by OTRC.com states that the couple has a prenup. It contains details about the pair's properties and how they would divide the assets in the event of a divorce. Kardashian is also seeking to retain all earnings received before, during and after their split, as well as personal property, such as jewelry.
She signed the documents on Thursday and used her married name -- Khloe Kardashian Odom. The reality star is requesting to have her maiden name restored legally.
The pair married on Sept. 27, 2009 and their wedding was filmed for an E! Entertainment special. The network later gave them their own reality show, "Khloe & Lamar." In 2011, they launched a fragrance titled "Unbreakable Bond."
News about the divorce also comes days after Odom settled a suspected DUI and was put on probation.
Kardashian posted a cryptic message on her Instagram page on Thursday. It read: "I am strong because I've been weak. I am fearless because I've been afraid. I am wise because I've been foolish."
