As speculated, Shakira and Usher will return as coaches on the NBC show "The Voice" for season 6 in spring 2014, once again replacing veteran stars Christina Aguilera and CeeLo Green, the network confirmed on Tuesday, Dec. 17.
The new season, with Shakira, Usher and veteran coaches Adam Levine and Blake Shelton, is set to premiere on Feb. 24 at 8 p.m. ET, NBC said in a statement obtained by OTRC.com.
A similar switch was made last spring, for season 4 of the singing competition series. Aguilera and CeeLo returned this past fall to join Levine and Shelton in the red chairs for season 5, whose finale airs on Tuesday. Three finalists remain -- Tessanne Chin and Will Champlin, who are both on Team Adam, and Jacquie Lee, who is on Team Christina.
Aguilera and CeeLo have not commented about the repeat cast switch. CeeLo is currently working on his new album, "Girl Power," which is due to be released in 2014.
