Oxnard woman arrested for selling methamphetamine

OXNARD, Calif.

Investigators with the Ventura County Sheriff's Office and Oxnard Police Department arrested 44-year-old Sandra Marquez near her residence in the 3100 block of South B Street.

In August 2013, narcotics detectives received information that Marquez was involved in methamphetamine sales. A search at the suspect's residence in the 900 block of Ilene Street in Oxnard located 10 ounces of methamphetamine in her son's bedroom in September.

Marquez's 26-year-old son, Jaime Caceres, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine for sale and felony child neglect. Officials say Caceres was the guardian of two young siblings living in the residence. At the time, Marquez was in custody on an unrelated matter.

Caceres was released after posting bail.

Soon after Marquez's release, narcotics detectives received information that she was again involved in methamphetamine sales.

On Wednesday, detectives observed Marquez and 33-year-old Gonzalo Guerrero conducting an alleged narcotics transaction. Detectives detained all parties and located over 29 ounces of methamphetamine in Marquez's vehicle.

During the later investigation, a search warrant was served at Marquez's residence. That's when authorities say Caceres ran and temporarily hid from detectives. He was arrested for obstructing the duties of law enforcement.

Marquez and Guerrero were booked for the sale and possession for sale of methamphetamine. Marquez is being held in lieu of $130,000. Guerrero is being held without bail with an INS hold. Caceres bail was set at $10,000.

Detectives seized nearly 40 ounces of methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $45,600.
