The release date of "Fast & Furious 7" has been delayed by almost nine months, says Vin Diesel, who shared a photo of himself and late co-star Paul Walker, who WILL appear in the movie, OTRC.com has confirmed.
Production on the anticipated action film was shut down after Walker died in a car crash near Los Angeles on Nov. 30. "Fast & Furious 7" was originally set to hit theaters July 11, 2014.
"Continuing the global exploits in the franchise built on speed, Vin Diesel and Paul Walker lead the returning cast of 'FAST & FURIOUS 7,' which will be released by Universal Pictures on April 10, 2015," the studio said in a statement to OTRC.com on Dec. 26. "James Wan directs this chapter of the hugely successful series, and Neal H. Moritz and Vin Diesel return as producers."
Diesel posted a picture of himself and Walker in character on his official Facebook page on Sunday (see above). He said it showed "the last scene we filmed together."
"There was a unique sense of completion, of pride we shared... in the film we were now completing... the magic captured... and, in just how far we've come," Diesel said. "'Fast and Furious 7' will be released... April 10th 2015! P.s. He'd want you to know first... "
Diesel and Tyrese, who starred with Walker in two "Fast" films, made personal appearances at a makeshift memorial set up near the site of the accident, located north of Los Angeles.
Universal Pictures' Facebook page shared Diesel's photo and message, which was also reposted on Walker's, which has been updated periodically, mainly with posts about his charity, Reach Out Worldwide, since the actor's death.
