Woman fatally stabbed in Arcadia; father-in-law arrested

ARCADIA, Calif.

Arcadia police officers responded to a report of a female not breathing at an apartment complex on the 900 block of Arcadia Avenue on Tuesday at about 8:24 a.m.

A woman in her mid-30s was found in an apartment suffering from multiple stab wounds. She was transported to Huntington Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead in the emergency room.

Officers at the scene of the crime were directed to a possible suspect who had just left the location, according to police. The suspect, 68-year-old Li Zhu, was located and arrested without incident. The suspect was identified as the woman's father-in-law.

The motive for the stabbing was not immediately determined.

Zhu was held without bail and was scheduled for arraignment on Thursday.
