The homeowner says he woke up when he felt something touching his leg Saturday.
He recognized the suspect as his 20-year-old neighbor, Ruben Diego Ortega, and chased him out of the house. The man says Ortega made off with cell phones and a Playstation.
When the victim realized his property was missing, he notified police and led officers to Ortega's residence in the 1200 block of West Highland Street.
Ortega was arrested after admitting he entered the house. He told police he entered the house through an open window and didn't think anyone was home. The suspect said he was crawling out of the house with the items when he fell asleep.
Ortega was arrested and booked on suspicion of burglary at the Santa Ana Police Department jail.
