Robin Wright has won the 2014 Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series - Drama for her role in "House of Cards," marking her first win and second nomination.
The winners were announced at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, California on Jan. 12. Wright beat out Julianna Margulies of "The Good Wife," Taylor Schilling of "Orange Is The New Black," Tatiana Maslany of "Orphan Black" and Kerry Washington of "Scandal" for the award.
"House of Cards" is the Netflix original series that focuses on Congressman Frank Underwood (played by Kevin Spacey), who decides to seek revenge on heavy hitters in Washington D.C. after being overlooked for the role of Secretary of State. His wife Claire (Wright) runs a nonprofit organization called Clean Water Initiative and becomes involved with her husband's political schemes.
This is Wright's second Golden Globe Award nomination. She was previously nominated in 1995 for her role as Jenny in the film "Forrest Gump."
