House Speaker Thom Tillis is widening his lead from the pack of other Republicans who want to unseat Democratic Sen. Kay Hagan in the fall.
The liberal-leaning Public Policy Polling group found Tillis has 19 percent of voter support, which is up six percent since last month.
Greg Brannon and Heather Grant both have 11 percent. Mark Harris has 8 percent and Billy Flynn has 7 percent.
PPP says Tillis gained 6 points from his 13 percent standing a month ago, while Harris has declined by 4 points from the 12 percent he had previously. Everyone else stayed about the same.
The poll also found Tillis is leading in every region of the state except the Triad, where Flynn is well known from a long radio career.
Meanwhile, 39 percent of voters in the state say they approve of the job Hagan is doing to 49 percent who disapprove.
Hagan has 1 or 2 point deficits against each of her potential GOP foes. Unpopularity of the Affordable Care Act seems to be driving much of Hagan's trouble. Only 38 percent of voters in the state overall support it to 48 percent who are opposed.
