Country singer Trace Adkins is seeking treatment in a rehab facility for alcoholism after he reportedly got into an argument with one of his impersonators on a cruise ship.

A spokesperson for Adkins confirmed to People magazine that the singer has "entered a treatment facility after a setback in his battle with alcoholism."

"As he faces these issues head-on, we ask that his family's privacy will be respected," the spokesperson added.

The 52-year-old was reportedly headlining a country cruise to Jamaica when he got into a physical altercation with a Trace Adkins impersonator, according to the magazine. The impersonator was singing in a karaoke bar on the ship when the alleged altercation occurred.

Adkins has talked openly about his past alcohol addiction. He spent 28 days in rehab in late 2002, according to Country Weekly.

"The program was an extremely positive experience for me. This is something I needed to do for myself, my family and my career," Adkins said in a statement at the time. "I feel the best I've felt in years, both physically and mentally. I'm focused and ready for the new year and the challenges that lie ahead."

Adkins is likely known for hit songs like "(This Ain't) No Thinkin' Thing" and "Ladies Love Country Boys." He won the All-Star season of "The Celebrity Apprentice" in 2013 and he has appeared in films like "The Lincoln Lawyer" and "A Country Christmas."
