He's a jokester, that Arnold Schwarzenegger.
The 66-year-old "Terminator" star and former governor of California went "undercover," wearing a black wig with a ponytail, a fake mustache and a baseball cap, at a Gold's Gym in Venice, California, to the apparent surprise of gym-goers. On Tuesday, Schwarzenegger shared a YouTube video of his appearance, which was filmed to promote the youth charity After-School All-Stars, which he founded in 1992.
"Oh my God, hi," a woman at the gym tells Schwarzenegger.
The actor is seen giving fitness pointers to gym-goers and also admires a framed photo of himself as Mr. Olympia. He won the bodybuilding competition every year between 1970 and 1975 and again in 1980.
"He looks so good," he says. "So handsome."
Schwarzenegger posted a link to the YouTube video while taking part in a Reddit AMA ("Ask Me Anything") session. (Watch it below)
"I also made this video with Reddit in mind, so I might as well put it out now. I play Howard, Gold's Gym field manager," he said
During the Reddit AMA, Schwarzenegger was also asked about a recent Bud Light commercial teaser that has been airing on television and whose full version is expected to debut during the NFL Super Bowl XLVIII on Feb. 2. The ad shows him dressed as 1970s Swedish tennis star Bjorn Borg, complete with a wig and headband.
"I had a great time filming that. But you'll have to wait for the Super Bowl," he said. "But, I have noticed lately people love to put me in disguises."
Schwarzenegger is also promoting an online fundraiser for the After-School All-Stars, in which the winner can win a tank ride with the actor, who is matching every dollar donated.
"You and a friend will get to ride shotgun with Arnold in his Sherman tank," the initiative's website says. "Yes, Arnold has a tank. Yes, this is your chance to ride in it. And if you're into working out, you can lift together on it too. Yes, there's a high probability that this will be the best day of your life. Cigars included."
