Love could not keep Toni Tennille and Daryl Dragon together after all.
Tennille, who rose to fame in the 1970s as part of the singing couple Captain & Tennille, has filed for divorce from her husband, Dragon, after nearly 40 years of marriage.
Tennille, 73, filed the papers in Arizona on Jan. 16 seeking a divorce from Dragon, 71, ABC News reported. In 2010, Tennille wrote in an entry on her blog that Dragon had a neurological disorder that hindered his ability to play music. The disorder was said to be similar to Parkinson's disease.
Captain & Tennille were perhaps best known for the songs "Love Will Keep Us Together," "Do That To Me One More Time" and "Muskrat Love." The two also starred on an ABC variety series from 1976 to 1977.
