Elizabeth Hurley took to Twitter to address some tabloid stories which claimed that she and former President Bill Clinton had a year-long affair in the late 1990s.

"Ludicrously silly stories about me & Bill Clinton. Totally untrue. In the hands of my lawyers. Yawn," she wrote on Twitter on Wednesday, Feb. 5.

It all started when a report published by Radar Online (Warning: link contains video with expletives) on Wednesday claimed that it had obtained an alleged recording of actor Tom Sizemore from January 2014 talking about Hurley having an affair with Clinton.

The actor reportedly says on the tape that the affair began in 1998, the same year Clinton was involved in a sex scandal centering on his extramarital affair with then White House intern Monica Lewinsky.

The report claims that Sizemore said it began with a White House screening of "Saving Private Ryan," which Sizemore starred in, when Clinton pulled the actor aside, walked with him to the Lincoln Bedroom and asked for Hurley's contact info. Sizemore reportedly claims on the tape that Clinton ended the affair after a year.

Sizemore appeared on HuffPost Live with his manager on Wednesday and said he had never been to the White House and he had never met Clinton or any President of the United States.

He later added, "I'm not denying I said these things. I don't remember saying them, but it's an old video tape and they're the rantings of a guy -- and it's been well chronicled -- that had a very severe drug problem."

Sizemore said during the interview, "None of it was true."

The actor also took the opportunity to make an apology and said, "I'd like to apologize to her [Hurley] for any hurt or BS I caused her or the Clintons or anybody else I may have mentioned."

Hurley later thanked her supporters in another tweet on Wednesday and wrote, "Thank you very much for your (mostly) very nice comments on what has been a pretty gruesome day x."

The 48-year-old model and actress added, "It's been a tough couple of months in many ways- thanks to all my friends & family for your unwavering support & kindness."
