OTRC: Hugh Jackman to host Tony Awards in 2014 (Poll)

Oh, what a beautiful morning ... Check this out -- Hugh Jackman is hosting the Tony Awards this year!

The news was revealed on Tuesday, Feb. 11. This will mark the fourth such gig for Jackman, who hosted the 2003, 2004 and 2005 Tonys. The 2014 ceremony takes place on June 8 in Radio City Music Hall in New York and will be broadcast live on CBS.

"We are thrilled that Hugh will be joining us, once again, at Radio City Music Hall to host the 68th annual Tony Awards," Charlotte St. Martin, executive director of The Broadway League and Heather Hitchens, Executive Director of the American Theatre Wing, said in a joint statement to OTRC.com. "Hugh is an extraordinary talent and loyal supporter of the Broadway community -- whether he is on-stage or in the audience -- and we are honored to have him back as host."

"We are so excited to announce that the @RealHughJackman will host the @TheTonyAwards for the fourth time #tonyawards," read a message posted on the Twitter page for the Tonys.

The 46-year-old actor also shared an Instagram video (watch it below).

Jackman is best known for his role as the mutant Wolverine in the "X-Men" movies and in standalone movies, but began his acting career in the theatre in his native Australia. He went on to play the leading role of Curly in the musical "Oklahoma!" in London in 1998 and is featured in the original cast recording. In 2004, he won a Tony for his role as Peter Allen in the Broadway musical "The Boy from Oz."

Jackman also starred in the Broadway play "A Steady Rain" in 2009 appeared in "Hugh Jackman, Back on Broadway" in 2011. That year, he also took part in the Tony Awards -- he participated in a musical showdown with host Neil Patrick Harris, who hosted the ceremony in 2009, 2012 and 2013 as well.

In 2012, Jackman received a special Tony Award for his contributions to the Broadway community and to the Actors' Equity Association. Last year, he also earned an Oscar nomination for his role as Jean Valjean in the film adaptation of the hit Broadway musical, "Les Miserables."
