Kate Mara, who plays journalist Zoe Barnes on the Netflix political drama series "House Of Cards," appears in a sexy photo shoot for GQ magazine's March 2014 issue.
"With 'House of Cards,' D.C. hasn't been this fun since 'All the President's Men' -- and with Kate, it's never looked this good," the outlet states on its website alongside a picture of the 30-year-old actress wearing orange and nude lingerie, and the headline "We're in Love with Kate Mara."
The photos and an interview with the actress were posted on GQ ahead of the season 2 premiere of "House Of Cards," which is set to be released on Netflix on Thursday, Feb. 14 -- Valentine's Day. (Warning - GQ article contains explicit language)
In "House Of Cards," Barnes, an inexperienced political news blogger, does whatever she thinks it takes to get the dirt on what's going on behind closed doors in Washington D.C. -- namely, use her sex appeal and get close to smarmy House Majority Whip Frank Underwood, played by Kevin Spacey.
"House Of Cards" premiered in 2013. Before that, Kate starred on shows such as "American Horror Story" and "Entourage" and in movies such as "127 Hours" and "Iron Man 2."
Kate is the older sister of "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" actress Rooney Mara. Their father, Timothy Christopher Mara, works as a scout for the New York Giants. Their paternal great-grandfather, Tim Mara, founded the NFL team, while, their maternal great-grandfather, Art Rooney, founded the Pittsburgh Steelers and their families continue to run the businesses.
During her photo shoot for GQ, in the spirit of Valentine's Day, Kate was asked about her own dating preferences in a video segment titled "How To Date Me." When asked about the "last person on earth" she would ever date, Kate said: "A lot of football players."
"I wouldn't date any of them," she said. "It's too close to home. My dad wouldn't like that very much."
