Los Angeles police say the victim was crossing Riverside Drive just south of Fletcher Drive at about 10 p.m .Thursday when he was struck by the first vehicle traveling southbound on Riverside Drive. As the man was on the pavement, a second vehicle struck and dragged him a short distance.
Both drivers left the scene without stopping to render aid. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
No witnesses have come forward, but investigators found a side mirror at the scene of the crash. This led police to believe one of the cars involved may be a black Hyundai or Kia with damage to the left side. The model and year are unknown.
The victim has not been identified but was described as a white male, approximately 45 years old.
