Bradley Cooper shared a funny story about his recent trip to the White House when he appeared on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" recently.
The 39-year-old actor revealed that he's been gaining weight for an upcoming role and so far has gained approximately 15 pounds in four weeks.
"Nothing fits me anymore," Cooper explained.
So, when it came time for the actor to go to the White House state dinner, he had to wear the tuxedo he wore to the Golden Globes back on Jan. 12.
"I'm getting dressed, like, 10 minutes before I was supposed to go, and literally the pants go up to like here," Cooper said as he motioned to his upper thighs. "And I just started laughing, actually this is hilarious, I'm going to meet the president."
"So I had to go commando, No. 1, 'cause there was no room at all," Cooper said. He later added, "And I couldn't even stand up really."
"It was a nightmare," he said.
The actor isn't the first person to admit going "commando" to DeGeneres. Last year, Tim McGraw admitted that he was going commando on the show that day because his pants "were too tight to put underwear on."
Cooper is currently nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role for his part in the film "American Hustle." This marks Cooper's second nomination. He was nominated in 2013 for his role in "Silver Linings Playbook."
Cooper revealed he was with his mom when he found out about his nomination.
DeGeneres asked, "You live with your mom, don't you?"
"I do," Cooper responded before putting his hand over his eyes. He later added, "She lives with me. Let's make it clear."
