Fans of "Guardians of the Galaxy" won't have to wait much longer for a full first look of the Marvel film.
A teaser trailer for the movie was released on the official Marvel Entertainment YouTube channel, ahead of the official premiere of the full-length trailer on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" on Feb. 18. The teaser trailer can be viewed below.
"Guardians of the Galaxy," based off of the cult-classic comic book by the same name, stars the likes of Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper and wrestler Dave Bautista. Marvel released the first image of the cast in full character on New Year's Eve. The film, directed by James Gunn, hits theaters on Aug. 1.
The story follows the character Peter Quill (played by Pratt), an American pilot who "finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt" after stealing an orb coveted by the villain Ronan, played by Lee Pace, according to a statement from distributor Walt Disney Studios. Saldana will star as Gamora, while Bautista will play Drax the Destroyer, Diesel as Groot and Cooper as Rocket Raccoon.
"To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits ? Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer," the statement said. "But when Peter discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand -- with the galaxy's fate in the balance."
