The "Terminator" reboot has found its Kyle Reese.
Variety reports that actor Jai Courtney will play the character, a human resistance fighter who protects Sarah Connor, in the Paramount and Skydance co-produced movie. Michael Biehn portrayed Reese in the original 1984 film.
Courtney, an Australia native, is perhaps best known for his role in the television show "Spartacus: Blood and Sand" and for films such as "Jack Reacher" and "A Good Day to Die Hard." Courtney can be seen next in the highly-anticipated film "Divergent," starring Shailene Woodley and Theo James.
In addition to Courtney's casting, Emilia Clarke of "Game of Thrones" fame is set to portray Sarah, a role originated by Linda Hamilton in the first film. Jason Clarke, who has appeared in the films "The Great Gatsby" and "White House Down," will play John Connor, originated by Edward Furlong in "Terminator 2: Judgment Day" in 1991.
Arnold Schwarzenegger is also said to appear in the film, reprising his role as The Terminator. A release date for the film was not announced at press time.
