Bette Midler to perform at Oscars for 1st time

LOS ANGELES

"We are thrilled to have Bette perform on the Oscars for the very first time," said producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron in a statement.

Midler has been nominated for an Oscar for her role in "For the Boys" and "The Rose."

Previously announced musical performers include Pharrell Williams and Idina Menzel. Williams will be singing his Oscar-nominated tune "Happy," while Menzel will sing "Let It Go" from the Disney movie "Frozen." Producers have not revealed what song Midler will perform.

The Oscars will air live on ABC7 from the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on March 2.
