Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan, Miles Teller and Jamie Bell are expected to star in a new film reboot of "The Fantastic Four," reports say.
The latest remake of the Marvel superhero comic franchise is being produced by Twentieth Century Fox and is based on the comic "The Ultimate Fantastic Four." Josh Trank is directing the movie, which is set for release in 2015. No official casting announcement has been made. The deals aren't in cement yet, but "Jordan and Bell look pretty solid," according to Deadline.
Mara, seen recently in the Netflix series "House of Cards," "recently closed a deal" to play Sue Storm, aka The Invisible Woman, according to Variety, while The Hollywood Reporter says the 30-year-old actress won the role after a round of screen tests.
Jordan, 27, has "been attached for some time" to play Johnny Storm, aka The Human Torch, Variety says. In the comic books, he is Sue's brother.
Teller, who recently appeared with Jordan and Zac Efron in the R-rated comedy movie "That Awkward Moment," "has an offer" to play the role of Reed Richards, aka Mr. Fantastic," in the "Fantastic Four" reboot. In the comics, he is Sue's husband. Teller turned 28 on Feb. 20.
Bell, a 27-year-old British actor who starred in "Nymphomaniac: Volume I" with Shia LaBeouf, is "expected to be tapped" for the part of Ben Grimm, aka The Thing, Variety reports.
The last "Fantastic Four" reboot was released in 2005 and starred Jessica Alba as Sue Storm, Chris Evans as Johnny Storm, Ioan Gruffudd as Reed Richards and Michael Chiklis as Ben Grimm. They reprised their roles in a 2007 sequel, "Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer."
