Eastman Footwear recalls 12K children's shoes

WASHINGTON

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the metal rivets surrounding the hole where the shoestring is secured on the shoes can have sharp edges.

The company received one report of a man who scratched or cut his finger.

The Runestone Style children's shoes were sold nationwide at Big Five Sporting Goods stores from January 2013 through December 2013 for $39. They are black with gray mesh panels and a green "Coleman" logo name and lantern graphic on the tongue.

Consumers were urged to return the shoes to the store for a full refund.

Anyone with questions regarding the recall can contact (800) 786-0282 ext. 301 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, or visit www.efny.com.
