FOX Sports reporter Erin Andrews wil reportedly join Tom Bergeron as co-host of ABC's "Dancing With The Stars," replacing Brooke Burke-Charvet, who exited the series in what she called a "shocking pre-season elimination."
Burke-Charvet, who had co-hosted "Dancing With The Stars" since season 10, had on Friday night tweeted that she would not return to the show in the upcoming 18th season, which premieres in March, saying: "Weird day ... Shocking pre-season elimination #DWTS ... ME." ABC confirmed her exit.
On Saturday, Burke-Charvet tweeted: "Thanks for all the love & support. I loved my time in the ballroom & I'll love my next chapter too. Change is positive. Love you guys!"
Both Andrews, who used to be an ESPN reporter, and Burke-Charvet are former contestants. Andrews placed third with partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy during season 10 in 2010 (see PHOTOS) (and watch videos above) and Burke-Charvet and Derek Hough won season 7 in 2008.
The reported casting change comes two weeks after ABC replaced longtime "Dancing With The Stars" music director, Harold Wheeler, and his 28-member band with former Emmy Awards music director Ray Chew and a new group of musicians.
