Congratulations to Jimmy Kimmel and wife Molly McNearney.
The host of ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" announced on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" that he and his new wife are expecting their first child together. This will be the third child for Kimmel, 46, who has a son named Kevin, 20, and a daughter named Katie, 22, from a previous marriage.
Kimmel appeared on an episode of the daytime series that is set to air on Wednesday. A sneak peek video was posted on the website of Ellen DeGeneres' show (watch it below). In typical Kimmel fashion, the comedian joked about his news with DeGeneres, telling the studio audience during the taping: "I'm having a baby ... with Ellen."
Kimmel, who wed McNearney, 36, in July 2013, also talked about being an older dad and having to learn the new ways of raising a child.
"I have a 20-year-old son and a 22-year-old daughter and I've really forgotten everything," he said. "I mean, it's funny because I was with who just had a baby and was like, 'oh yeah.' And there's new ways to do things, you hold them by the front of the neck now, it seems."
Kimmel also joked about what he and McNearney plan to name the baby. While he would like to wait to be surprised about the gender of their child, Kimmel offered hilarious ideas of names he has considered for their newborn.
"I like the name 'Karate,'" he said. "I think 'Karate Kimmel' has a great ring to it. And you know, the Kardashians with the two 'K's thing is nice. But depending upon the sex of the baby, either 'Karate' or 'The Riddler' are names that we're thinking of."
Ellen DeGeneres to appear on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!"
On DeGeneres' show, Kimmel is also set to talk about his "Jimmy Kimmel Live: After The Oscars" special that will air after the 2014 Oscars. Also on Wednesday, DeGeneres will appear on his weekly late-night ABC show. She is hosting the Oscar ceremony, which takes place on March 2 and airs on ABC, for the second time.
