Amanda Bynes has struck a plea deal over her 2012 DUI case and will serve three years of probation.

The 27-year-old "Hairspray" actress and former Nickelodeon star had pleaded no contest to reckless driving, while her drunk driving charge was dismissed, according to CNN, which carried the report on Tuesday, Feb. 25. Under the terms of the plea deal, Bynes must also attend an alcohol education classes and pay a fine, the outlet said.

The actress was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving in the Los Angeles area in April 2012 and initially pleaded not guilty. She was accused of hitting a police squad car and for refusing to take a breath test. Her misdemeanor charge had carried the threat of jail time. (Check out more details and her mug shot.)

In July 2013, she was placed on a 5150 psychiatric hold and underwent a mental health evaluation after she allegedly started a fire in a driveway in her hometown of Thousand Oaks, where she currently lives with her parents. She spent several months in a treatment facility in late 2013, while her 2012 DUI case was moved to a mental health court and in November 2013, a judge found her mentally competent to stand trial.

Bynes had also faced potential charges stemming from a May 23, 2013 arrest in New York for marijuana possession. She was also accused of throwing a bong out of her apartment window -- which she denied. CNN reported that the case has been dropped.
