The full-length trailer for the anticipated 2014 reboot of the movie "Godzilla" has been released as sees Bryan Cranston taking on his "Breaking Bad" character Walter White's deep, frantic tone as he expresses fear and anger over the threat of ... the mysterious monster.
The film also stars Elizabeth Olsen, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Sally Hawkins and Juliette Binoche and was directed by Gareth Edwards. It is set to hit theaters on May 16.
The trailer shows various scenes of mass destruction, including a wrecked city, people running from a flood, fighter jets falling out of the sky and a destroyed Statue of Liberty, as well as what appears to be a nuclear explosion. The first "Godzilla" movie, adapted from a Japanese sci-fi franchise, debuted in 1954. In the trailer, it is explained that something was awakened following nuclear tests in the Pacific.
"You are not fooling anybody when you say that what happened was a natural disaster," Cranston's character, scientist Joe Brady, is heard saying. "You're lying. It was not an earthquake. It wasn't a typhoon ... because what's really happening is that you're hiding something out there! And it is gonna send us back to the Stone Age!"
"God help us all," he adds.
Olsen stars as his daughter, Ellen, whose boyfriend is a military lieutenant, played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson. Watch the "Godzilla" trailer above.
