UPDATE: Missing Cal State LA student Adilene Munguia found safe in Montebello

Munguia was supposed to meet her roommates Thursday night to go bowling, but she never showed up. The bio-chemistry major was last seen on the school's security cameras, walking across campus using her cellphone.

"She boarded a bus headed towards the area of Olympic and Soto. Now, we don't know where she was going in that area or as to why, but we just want to find her," said Cpl. Brian Namkoong with Cal State L.A. police.

At this point police don't suspect foul play. Friends describe Munguia as a smart girl who is focused on studying and say this is completely out of character.

"She's usually here most of the time, talking to us, she's never been one to leave and never come back and not tell anyone. That's what worries us the most," said roommate Estrella Perez.

The 19-year-old has no known mental health issues, university police said.

Neither her roommates nor her family in San Bernardino have heard from Munguia. Fliers are posted across the Cal State L.A. campus.

"I need to keep positive and I have all our friends, we're just trying to keep our hopes up and our spirits up, and just trying to get the word out there as much as possible," said roommate Linda Ardian.

Munguia is described as a female Hispanic with brown hair and brown eyes, 4 feet 10 inches tall, weighing 105 pounds. She was last seen wearing a pink sleeveless top with black pants, open toe shoes and carrying a beige and brown purse.
