Jeffrey Yoshitake, 42, is accused of having a sexual relationship with a former female student from the time she was 15 years old into adulthood, police said. Yoshitake is the girl's former math teacher. The relationship lasted about seven years, according to police.
Yoshitake was charged with one felony count of lewd acts with a minor and was held on $100,000 bond.
Yoshitake teaches 5th grade at Garfield Elementary School, according to the school district.
