Leah Remini has strutted her stuff in the "Dancing With The Stars" ballroom, and is now set to headline her own TLC Network reality series.
In a statement obtained by OTRC.com, Remini, 43, will star in a to-be-titled reality show on the cable network, with a tentative summer 2014 premiere. The network has ordered 12 half-hour episodes of the show, with production set to begin on March 5.
The show will feature members of Remini's family, including her husband of 10 years, Angelo Pagan, and their 9-year-old daughter Sofia. Other members close to Remini that will appear on the show include her mother, stepfather, a housekeeper and her daughter's British nanny.
"Leah is a no-nonsense, hard-working, relatable mom, wife, daughter and sister. Her sharp humor and unfiltered family are a perfect match for the network," said Nancy Daniels, GM at TLC. "This series continues our focus on creating compelling series about remarkable families, using heart and humor to anchor it to the TLC brand."
Remini has starred in several television shows in the past, including "Saved By The Bell" and "Fired Up." She rose to fame as Carrie Heffernan on the hit CBS sitcom "The King of Queens," a character she portrayed for nine seasons from 1998 to 2007.
Most recently, Remini competed on ABC's "Dancing With The Stars" for the show's 17th season during Fall 2013. She partnered with professional dancer Tony Dovolani and were eliminated during week 10 of the show. She also has a recurring role on the TV Land sitcom "The Exes."
