Long Beach woman attacked at apartment complex; 2 persons of interest sought

Police are asking for the public's help in identifying two men wanted for questioning after a 19-year-old woman was attacked at a Long Beach apartment complex Monday.

The unidentified victim was assaulted in the 2000 block of Beverly Plaza around 11:30 p.m.

According to police, the victim was walking home, when two men assaulted her, knocking her unconscious and stealing her phone. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment of significant facial injuries.

The first suspect was described as a Hispanic or African-American man, between 20 and 22 years old, standing around 5 feet 10 inches tall, and weighing approximately 180 pounds. He had a light complexion and was wearing a dark-colored hat and dark clothing.

The second suspect was described as a stocky African-American man, between 20 and 22 years old, standing around 5 feet 8 inches tall, and weighing approximately 195 pounds. He was last seen wearing dark clothing.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information regarding the case was urged to contact Long Beach police Detective Mark Steenhausen at (562) 570-7465.
