A portion of the southbound 405 Freeway will be shut down for two nights this week to install a freeway overhead sign, Metro officials announced Tuesday.

The contractor for the I-405 Sepulveda Pass Improvements Project plans to close the southbound 405 Freeway between Santa Monica and National boulevards in West Los Angeles from midnight to 5 a.m. on Friday, March 14 and Sunday, March 16.

Hours before the closure, ramps onto the closed part of the freeway are expected to shut down at 7 p.m. and lanes at 10 p.m.

Detour: From the southbound I-405, exit at Santa Monica Boulevard, turn left to eastbound Santa Monica Boulevard, turn right to southbound Sepulveda Boulevard, turn right to westbound National Boulevard, and turn left on to the southbound I-405 on-ramp on National Boulevard.
