Bust out the face paint and air guitars -- KISS and Def Leppard are going on tour!

In a press conference held at the famed House of Blues in Los Angeles, California, the two groups made the official announcement on March 17 that they will embark on a nationwide tour beginning in June 2014.

This will be the first time the two legendary bands have toured together. During the press conference, Joe Elliott of Def Leppard said that he and KISS' Gene Simmons discussed the idea of touring together two years ago, adding that it seemed like a "natural fit" for the groups to join forces.

KISS, made up of Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Eric Singer and Tommy Thayer, are known for their outrageous black and white makeup. The group rose to fame in the 1970s and 1980s with hit songs such as "Rock and Roll All Nite" and "Detriot Rock City."

Def Leppard also gained notoriety during the 1980s. The band has amassed numerous hits, including "Pour Some Sugar On Me," "Rock of Ages," "Bringin' On The Heartbreak," "Love Bites" and "Hysteria."
