Angus T. Jones, who played Charlie Sheen's nephew Jake on "Two and a Half Men" for 10 years before exiting the CBS sitcom last year after calling it "filth," is almost unrecognizable in a new video interview, in which he says he was a "paid hypocrite" on the series.
The 20-year-old and former child star now sports a beard and is focusing on his Christian faith. In 2012, he had spoken at the Adventist Media Center in Southern California about how he has become more religious and later stirred controversy by making negative comments about "Two and a Half Men" and telling people not to watch it, as seen in a video posted on a Christian website.
"It was difficult for me to be on the show and be part of something that was making light of topics in our world where there are really problems for a lot of people and I was a paid hypocrite because I wasn't OK with it but I was still doing it," Jones said in a recent interview with KHOU Television in Houston, Texas.
Jones, who had made $300,000 per episode -- as revealed by CBS' CEO and president of CBS, had initially apologized for his remarks but later left the series.Sheen, who famuously exited the show himself in 2011 after insulting showrunner Chuck Lorre and amid a personal crisis, called the video controversy a Hale-Bopp-like meltdown.
In his new interview with KHOU, Jones said he had no regrets about what he said about the series.
"You know, that's his like, his baby," Jones said, referring to Lorre. "And I just totally insulted his baby and ... to that degree, I am apologetic but otherwise, I'm not ... I don't regret saying what I said."

Nowadays, Jones, a native of Austin, Texas, is going to school in Colorado and visits different churches and ministries around the country, according to KHOU. On Saturday, March 15, Jones spoke at the World Harvest Outreach Church, a Seventh Day Adventist church in Houston.
As seen on the World Harvest Outreach church's Facebook page, a poster promoting the event contained a photo-shopped image of Jones as Jake, wearing a tux, which was lifted from an official "Two and a Half Men" publicity photo. It also showed the words: "Angus T. Jones, Hollywood actor for "Two and a Half Men."
"Dr. James R. Doggette, Sr. & The WHO family would like to send a special thank you to Former 'Two and a Half Men' STAR Angus T. Jones for worshipping with us yesterday and sharing his story about his faith!" read a message posted on the World Harvest Outreach Church's Facebook page on Sunday.
