Tina Fey is living out a big Muppet fan dream by appearing alongside the beloved characters in the upcoming film "Muppets Most Wanted."
In the comedy, Fey plays Nadya, a guard at a Russian prison where Kermit finds himself being held after he is mistaken for his criminal look-alike Constantine.
Fey talked to OTRC.com recently about the film, being a huge Muppet nerd, her daughters being excited about the movie and more.
Check out five highlights from the interview below and watch video from the interview above.
1. She had some help with the Russian accent for Nadya, but the wardrobe helped too.
"Well Nadya is Russian and, you know, there are those kind of templates, I keep saying like Boris and Natasha. A lot of movie villains in the past have been Russian, so I just tried to find the accent, tried to get the accent right and I did have help," Fey said. "Then her wardrobe too I think also really informs her character."
2. She has even more respect for the Muppet world after doing the film.
"I mean, I already had a lot of respect for the Muppet world, but I have even more respect now that they -- everything it takes to make a movie like this is so impressive and everyone is so happy to be there and be doing it," Fey said. "Just for me it's like, 'Oh yeah it's a privilege and a delight to make any movie.' Especially one like this and just see that like the Muppets never complain. It could be freezing, it could be raining. They -- nobody ever complains."
3. She jokes about finally getting recognized on the playground by kids after the film comes out.
"It would be nice to have younger kids see this [movie] and hopefully like, 'Nadya!' 'Cause then I can finally get recognized on the playground. Finally," Fey joked. "I'm always like, 'Hey everybody check me out. Look how good I am on this curly slide. Nothing?'"
4. She decided, in part, to appear in the film for her two daughters, but she's also a big fan of the Muppets.
"Both my daughters, they want to see it. I do have to admit though it is maybe more about my fangirl nerdery about the Muppets from when I was a kid," Fey said. "So I'm glad that they're along for the ride, but I would've wanted to do this regardless."
5. She proves her "fangirl nerdery" of the Muppets by telling a story from her childhood.
"I remember, like strategizing one summer being like, 'All right, how do I convince my mom -- we gotta go to Burger King at the right time this month to get a chocolate shake to get 'The Muppets Take Manhattan' glasses,'" Fey said with a laugh. "'Cause you used to have to buy the thing and it was glass. They gave you glass."Bonus: She revealed her favorite Muppet and said, "I've never met a Muppet I didn't like, but of course, my leading man Kermit."
